BIOGRAPHY

Collage. Photography. Artistic disciplines.

Inés Lendínez (1991) is a photographer and collage artist from Madrid, known by the nickname La Chica del Bonet. She started out as a camera assistant for comedy sketches and monologues. She has worked in different areas of the audiovisual sector as a videographer and video editor, as well as a multimedia designer.

Since 2015, she has held solo and group exhibitions of both photography and collages. In 2021, she began her collage projects, both digital and analog.

Her designs have been featured on covers for musicians and writers, such as the book Miasma Vida by Aitor Araez (Ediciones Raven), Quiebra una Rama by Beatriz Lendínez (Loto Azul), and the music album A Chair At The Backdoor for the Italian group Giant the Vine.

Collage as a creative process

For collages, I use both digital and analog techniques. From my photographs I have always related, even in different themes, that union that the human being has with nature. I use it as a metaphor using elements such as flowers, plants, animals... For the design of covers, clients have asked me to use this style in their work to support their vision. Usually they have been for cases about mental health such as MIASMA VIDA, which talks about depression or XUNGLERO, a musical theme based on sounds recorded from a jungle. In them there is not only a simple image, but also stories to tell. As in A CHAIR AT THE BACKDOOR, through listening to the music of that album, I had to create for myself both a visual and narrative concept.

For the collages I resort to royalty-free images, for commercial use or of my own authorship. And depending on the project, without known copyright restrictions or given by the author of those photographs. The basis of the design of a collage is a portrait, whose photographs are usually old and if they are not, I convert them directly into black and white with its different shades. In general I don't usually use very saturated colors, except if there is a theme that asks for it. But I try to use more pastel tones.

In short, through the collage I can design the concepts and ideas that the person wants to transmit or teach.
