Joining pieces
Collage was a way to do something different from painting and to look for new ways of expression and artistic processes. It is about the use of different materials and joining them on a support to finally create a work or object. In futurism, for example, they leaned towards newspaper clippings and in surrealism, towards photographs. Material that in my case I use constantly and is the basis of all my collage works, a creative freedom that allows you to take advantage and value the objects around you, which is known as analog or analog collage. This artistic technique is also taken to the digital and designs can be made using programs such as Photoshop.
In my case I use both, but I work more in the digital field. A single collage can take me from 3 hours to 3 days until the final design, depending on the theme or assignment. After the sketch, the work is usually more fluid. I consider sketch when I have the main images cut out, the colors selected and a montage that allows me to move forward to the final design.
In some collages I have to study beforehand the subject matter to know what images to look for (when I have a commission, for example), if I have to draw some elements, create vectors...
In short, a laborious job that allows me to learn every day.
Digital Collage
The digital collages are worked from the Adobe program: Photoshop. So the basis of my designs are photographs, especially stock photos.
The editing process will vary depending on the project, whether it is just a portrait or a complete layout. To get the cutouts, I use the Pen tool and if I have to use a special vector, I resort to Illustrator.

Analog Collage
Scissors. Cutter. Magazines. Dried flowers/plants. Papers of different textures...
On top of a cutting board, I proceed to find and gather the materials I need. I usually work with magazines or papers that I don't use or that other people don't use. For the cutouts I take the scissors and cutter to get those pieces.
Regarding other materials, instead of throwing them away, I recycle them to make them part of the design and as for flowers and plants, I pick wild plants from the field or flowers that I have bought or have been given to me, I let them dry for weeks and when they are ready, I keep them in a box so I can pick them up when I need them.

For the designs, I work with free stock photographs and photographs of a servant, in the case of working with photographs of third parties, it would be with works of the same project and provided by the author. If not, it would be necessary to ask permission to the author of such photographs.
